Description
The Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 057446 1-Ton Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is used with R502 refrigerant in HVAC systems. This specific model has an ODF connection of 3/8” x 1/2” for a simple connection to refrigerant lines. A TXV is an essential part of the refrigeration cycle in that it regulates, the amount of refrigerant that enters the evaporator coil. It works with the help of a microswitch which detects the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant exiting, from evaporator and makes changes, in the valve opening. This precise control makes the refrigerant flow to the evaporator to be optimal and also prevents liquid refrigerant from flowing to the compressor.
