Description
The Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 049189 Manual Stem Valve is intended to controlling the flow of the refrigerants within HVAC systems. It is a manual stem valve in that it uses the stem that is operated by hand to move the opening inside the valve to control the flow of the refrigerant. The 5/8” ODF connection means the size and the kind of connection points and the fact that it is soldered or brazed directly to 5/8” copper tubing which is standard in refrigeration and air conditioning. It is used in several applications in HVAC systems as will be discussed in this article.
