The Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 049175 Suction Line Filter Drier plays an essential role in protecting the HVAC systems from moisture, acids, and solid contaminants that may have adverse effects on the efficiency and durability of the systems. This model is a suction line filter drier that is placed in the suction line of the refrigeration cycle, after the evaporator and before the compressor. Its main job is to eliminate such unfavorable compounds from the refrigerant before it enters the compressor, which forms the crux of the HVAC systems. While a 1-3/8” ODF connection communicates the size and kind of piping the unit supports.
