Description
The Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 027769 Straight Through Flange forms the valve body of the thermostatic expansion valve, sitting in the liquid line between the condenser and evaporator of air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration HVAC systems to meter refrigerant flow into the evaporator coil. Refrigerant enters the 3/8-inch ODF inlet under high-pressure liquid conditions as it exits through the 1/2″ ODF outlet into the evaporator. The straight-through body configuration routes refrigerant in a direct linear path through the valve rather than through a 90-degree turn, reducing turbulence and pressure drop, and the orifice remains a flow restriction for the evaporator feed rate.
