The Sporlan Controls 169216 1-Ton Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is intended for use with R404A refrigerant in commercial refrigeration applications.This TXV is essential in controlling the amount of liquid refrigerant to be discharged to the evaporator depending on the system evaporating temperature. It accomplishes this with a nearby thermostatic element that measures the temperature of the evaporator and modulates the of refrigerant based on this variable. As the evaporator temperature increases the TXV opens still further for more refrigerant flow to provide more cooling effect. On the other hand, whenever the evaporator temperature is low, the TXV throttles the refrigerant flow to achieve the required conditions.
