Description
The Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 048218 Liquid Line Drier is an essential part of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It is specifically meant to prevent dust or other damaging impurities in the refrigerant from getting to the more sensitive parts of the system including the compressor, expansion valve, and condenser. These contaminants include moisture, acids, and particulate matter which may reduce efficiency, affect system performance, and even lead to expensive equipment failure. The drier works on the Concept of adsorption. It carries a desiccant material usually in the form of a molecular sieve, which has a high moisture and other contaminants retention factor.
