Description
The International Comfort Products 1171252-Freeze Thermostat is an essential component of the HVAC system. It is designed to turn on a heating component of the system when the outdoor temperature gets below an essential level, which is about 30°F. If the refrigerant becomes a cold solid, it will damage the equipment inside the heat pump. The thermostat works if the outside temperature is lower than the set point the thermostat allows current to flow to the auxiliary heat strip or the emergency heat within the heat pump. It provides an auxiliary heat to the system also protecting the equipment from the effects of freezing refrigerant.
